NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi PAIR
MAKER: Kenichi Murikami
SIZE: 6-1/8" (15.5cm) weight 2 lbs 15 ounces The stand is 8-1/4" x 7-7/8" x 1/2"
CONDITION: Small dent by the male's mouth and a few dents on his front kimono. The female has a few small dents on her backside. The box lid has a split corner and wear on all the corners.
NOTES: Name of pair is Satoyori "里寄". The name does not translate properly so this may not be correct but it is what was given. The design was done by the burnt wood technique, heavy handed and wide. Original box and stand are included.
Mr. Murakami was born in 1929. He studied oil painting before switching to kokeshi in 1946 and is a multi award winning artist.
