Japanese wooden horse or Miharu goma. It is one of three popular folk toy horses in Japan but is lesser known outside of Japan with the most familar being the Yawata or Hachinoe horse.
The Miharu horse owes it's beginnings to a wooden horse that saved a military leader during a tough battle in ancient times. It's also known as the child caretaking wooden horse.
This is the smallest and only size left of three sizes of new old stock, mint in box, received. Measure 2-1/2" tall x 1-3/4" (not including mane or tail).
