Lacquered Wood Nesting Box Pair #2

Vintage pair of Japanese lacquered wood nesting boxes, measuring approximately 4-3/8" tall with a 4-3/4" diameter.

The condition is okay. Please keep in mind they are 50+ years old, they are used and have also become difficult to find, especially in pairs.

The male is actually in good condition, no wear on the bottom and no chipping on the rims. His facial features have faded with the left eyebrow almost completely faded. There is a light stain at the top of his face and a few spots on his hair where the paint has faded.

The female shows no wear on the bottom but has a little chipping on the rim of the bottom bowl. She has two hairline cracks; one on the bottom bowl left side which was only noticed because the black lacquer chipped on the inside. The other runs up her face on the left side. The paint is also chipped in a spot over the left eyebrow.

They are both missing their silk tassel that would have been attached to the handle.
