Pieces of a male and female lacquered wood Japanese "kokeshi" bowl set. The pieces include the body or bottom bowl of both the male and female, the head of the male and the cover or top piece of the female. The top piece of the male and the female head pieces are missing. This is listed in case anyone is looking for replacement parts.

This is the larger size of this particular type of bowl set. The body diameter is 4" and the height, using the various pieces, is 3-3/4" without the handle. The condition shows normal wear and tear from use and for it's age. The female body has some wear on the bottom, 2 tiny chips on the rim and 1 on the side. The lid has a fair amount of chipping on the inside. The male body has very minor wear on the bottom with one tiny chip on the rim. The head also shows very minor wear on the bottom and one small dent on the back. His facial features have slight fading with the nose almost completely faded.

You can get one complete doll using the pieces as pictured. One picture shows the male head and body with the top turned sideways (as there is red hair decoration normally seen in the front of the female). You can also use the male head with the 2 female pieces.
