NAME: Keshi Ningyo of the Jidai Matsuri (festival) parade in Kyoto.
SIZE: The dolls are around 5/8" tall (some variations).
The box measures 13-3/4" long x 1-3/4" deep x 2" high.
CONDITION: More recent set (80's to current), 26 figures including two on horses. COMPLETE and in good condition.
The banners may have a little fraying. There is a small puncture behind the two cloth banner carriers. There are no figures missing so we will assume that it was a manufacture flaw - made too close to the figures in front.
NOTES: Jidai Matsuri is held on October 22nd is one of the three big festivals held in Kyoto every year. It is called the "Festival of Ages" and has about 2,000 participants dressed in costumes from most periods in Japanese history as well as historic figures. It celebrates the anniversary of the founding of Kyoto.
