NAME: Vintage Japanese wooden Miharu goma or horse.
SIZE: 3" tall (to the ears), 2-1/4" long
CONDITION: The aging varnish gives a whitish appearance to the back half of the horse. The box is not the original box.
NOTES: The Miharu horse owes it's beginnings to a wooden horse that saved a military leader during a tough battle in ancient times. It's also known as the child caretaking wooden horse. It is one of three popular folk toy horses in Japan but is lesser known outside of Japan with the most familar being the Yawata or Hachinoe horse.
