NAME: Vintage Japanese wooden Miharu goma or horse.
SIZE: 5-3/8" tall (to the ears), 3-3/8" long
CONDITION: Good. The box is totally falling apart, with one side of the box and the lid torn off. The lid also has split corners.
NOTES: The Miharu horse owes it's beginnings to a wooden horse that saved a military leader during a tough battle in ancient times. It's also known as the child caretaking wooden horse. It is one of three popular folk toy horses in Japan but is lesser known outside of Japan with the most familar being the Yawata or Hachinoe horse.
