Ema Japanese Prayer Board, 3D Year of the Rabbit

NAME: Japanese ema or prayer board with a 3 dimensional carved wood rabbit representing the "year of the rabbit"
SIZE: Height 2-7/8" (7.4cm) to the top point, 4-13/16" (12.3cm) long
CONDITION: Minor dent on the rabbit and several on both sides of the board along with light scratches. The rabbit has multiple vertical scratch-like marks but they're probably manufacture made. Some of the white on the ears was dirt but there are two tiny dings.

An ema board or prayer board is a method by which people make wishes, prayers or thanks to the dieties by writing it down on the board and hanging it at a shrine. The art work traditionally depicts the Zodiac animals, historic stories, folklore characters and stories, etc., but modern characters are also included now.
