NAME: Japanese ema or prayer board with a dragon representing the "Year of the Dragon".

SIZE: Height 3-3/8" (8.6cm) to the top point, 4-13/16" (12.2cm) at the longest point

CONDITION: Couple of small dents and light scratches. There is no cord.

NOTES: Older board. A typical Japanese dragon has 3 claws as this one shows.

An ema board or prayer board is a method by which people make wishes, prayers or thanks to the dieties by writing it down on the board and hanging it at a shrine. The art work traditionally depicts the Zodiac animals, historic stories, folklore characters and stories, etc., but modern characters are also included now.
