NAME: Japanese ema or prayer board with a tiger folk craft nodder, representing the "Year of the Tiger".

SIZE: Height 3-7/16" (8.9cm) to the top point, 5" (12.9cm) at the longest point.

CONDITION: Small gouge in the wood on the left leg is probably an original flaw in the wood as it's painted over. Few light scratches.

NOTES: An ema board or prayer board is a method by which people make wishes, prayers or thanks to the dieties by writing it down on the board and hanging it at a shrine. The art work traditionally depicts the Zodiac animals, historic stories, folklore characters and stories, etc., but modern characters are also included now.
