NAME: Japanese ema or prayer board with the 7 Gods of Fortune (Shichifukujin), treasure boat in background.

SIZE: Height 4-7/16" to the top point, 6-13/16" at the widest point

CONDITION: Horizontal scratches through the paint in the middle of the picture and couple vertical scratches on the far right side (in the picture).

NOTES: An ema board or prayer board is a method by which people make wishes, prayers or thanks to the dieties by writing it down on the board and hanging it at a shrine. The art work traditionally depicts the Zodiac animals, historic stories, folklore characters and stories, etc., but modern characters are also included now. Ema boards which have been offered are not resold.
