  • Creative Kokeshi Lamp Pair, Emperor & Empress Drawing Creative Kokeshi Lamp Pair, Emperor & Empress Drawing

NAME: Pair of Japanese kokeshi lamps with the Emperor & Empress and two (2) lampshades

SIZE: The lamps are 10-1/2" & 10-3/4" without the shades. The shades are 6". The male doll is 7-1/4" and the female, 7-3/4"

CONDITION: A few dents and scratches. The female has some light spots on her face and back of the head where the varnish has worn off. It also looks like the left side of her base has a little bit of water damage.

On the right side of her bun, there is a piece of splintered wood and a patched hole. It looks to be a manufacture "flaw". I have seen patched holes before. They were probably drilled for a kanzashi and then changed their minds. One case had a patched hole on one side and then the kanzashi was put on the opposite side.

NOTES: A bulb clip is attached to each shade and will only work with a regular incandescent bulb. Changing the wiring would be recommended as it is 50+ years old.

The lamps will be boxed and mailed separate from the shades. Otherwise the box would be oversized and heavy and will be hit with a high surcharge.

Very nice set!
