NAME: Creative Japanese kokeshi of the story of the 47 Ronin, also known as Chushingura.

MAKER: Unknown

SIZE: The Ronin are about 5/8" tall. The stand is 13-3/4" x 1-3/8". Overall height is about 3".

CONDITION: There is a dent on the top edge of the backboard and the paper attached to the board is a little ragged on the edge in spots. Two holes were drilled in the top corners probably to hang.

NOTES: This is a story about loyalty. Ronin means masterless samurai. The names of the ronin are written on the back wall. Although it is a true story, so many plays and tales have been written that it is hard to sort fact from fiction. This is a brief version:
