Clay Koubouzu (Monk Apprentice) Japanese Folk Craft

Vintage Japanese Clay Kobouzu (Monk Apprentice or Trainee). He is traveling as he has hat and walking stick in hand. He measures 1-7/8" and the stand, about 2-1/4" x 1-3/4". His walking stick was missing but one was made from a shaved down toothpick (The originial was a simple stick). It can be removed easily. There are a few minor scratches and some dirt stains on his head and on top of the post.

This is part of a family collection of folk crafts from the 50's and 60's. The father traveled to all parts of Japan on business and would bring home souvenirs for the family.
