Dog Balance Toy (Yajirobe) Merry-Go-Round Japanese Folkcraft

Cute Japanese Folkcraft of a paper mache balance toy (yajirobe) with three dogs, merry-go round style. (For a little background on "paper mache" please see "definitions" under Information at left). A bamboo pole is afixed to a wood stand. The dogs are attached to one end of bamboo sticks. The other end is affixed to a wooden pin which is then inserted into the stand. When well balanced it spins around nicely. Two dogs measure 2-1/4" and one 1-3/4" Overall height is 4" and the base has a diameter of 3-1/2". This is inventory from a closed folkcraft store in Japan. It is new old stock. The dogs show a little discoloring from age. Paper decorating the bamboo sticks with the dogs is a bit bent up as well as the paper decorating the stand. Both a casualty of the way it was stored. comes with it's original gift box but since it was in long term storage, the box may have dents and/or soiling.
