Antique Japanese Miniature Wood Kitchen

  • Antique Japanese Miniature Wood Kitchen
  • Antique Japanese Miniature Wood Kitchen Antique Japanese Miniature Wood Kitchen

NAME: Japanese antique miniature wood kitchen with a lot of extras.

AGE: Early Showa (1930's-40's)

SIZE: Main frame is approx. 16-1/2" x 13-1/8 x 5-1/2 (42 x 33.5 x 14cm)

CONDITION: Good for it's age. There may be minor issues but below are the more noticeable ones.

Top back corner has broken off. A wooden nail has broken and the lower back panel is coming away from the frame. Some of the wood has dried out and cracked. This includes the little water scoop. Paper items never age well and items in the vases are falling apart as well as the cover on the jug.

NOTES: Hard to know if things are missing as the pieces were purchased separately. Some of the extra items are tea pot and 5 cups, other assorted ceramic and stoneware bowls and vases, 5 wood buckets and utensil.

The extra panel does not seem to attach to the main frame. Normally if it attaches, one side would be flush. This one has the decorated top piece extended over the ends on both sides. Perhaps it fits at a 90 degree angle as another wall.

This is a little crudely made for the masses. The finer ones can sell for $500 to over $1000 in Japan.

NOT RECOMMENDED for small children as there are pointy or sharp things and small parts.

Mailing weight will be at 6 to 7 pounds. This will ship to U.S. addresses via parcel post insured. International buyers, this will be costly to ship and the U.S. shipping amount deducted will not be of much help. Shipping to the UK, not including insurance is $58.10 and, oddly, to Australia, $58.85. An invoice will be issued for the balance due.
