Antique Japanese Costume Doll Pair, Butterfly Dancers

NAME: Antique Japanese costume dolls of a pair of butterfly dancers. They each have their drum, butterfly crown and wings.

AGE: c1920-30's

SIZE: 5-1/2" (13.3cm) and 4-3/8" (11.1cm)

CONDITION: Excellent condition. The wood has split on the back of the box.

NOTES: They were stored well and the fabrics look as clean and new as the day they were made. It doesn't appear they were ever displayed as their accessories were never attached. One string was partially through a hole in the crown. I assume this string attaches the crown as well as the wings in the back.

Nice lacquered stand and old picture for the background. It has a "stage curtain" and cherry blossoms behind.

Very rare to find a doll set this old and in mint condition!!!
